SWOTVAC Friday

Currently listening to: Akdong Musician - I Love You

So it's the last day of SWOTVAC. Did i manage to finally start studying? Puah! Of course not! It's like you don't even know me. Instead, I went shopping at The Glen. And... I managed to barely buy anything. This is what I call a micro,micro-haul. I left the house pretty late today, so I only managed to hit up two stores. But it's okay because those were my two favourite stores within The Glen. First stop, EcoSkin shop! This is the closest (30 minute bus ride) yet inexpensive korean beauty store to me. They're more expensive than if i were to buy the same product off eBay, but they're not so expensive that I would totally disregard them. Today, i ended up walking out with the Etude House Wonder Pore Brush and TheFaceShop Charcoal & Konjac Cleansing Puff.

Etude House Wonder Pore Brush

I've heard so many bloggers raving about how good this brush is that I absolutely had to buy it!

The packaging is so adorable. I don't want to throw it away!! Damn you Etude House. I swear every time I buy something from there I end up storing the packaging away. I'm becoming such a hoarder.

My first impression of this product (other than that of the awesome packaging) is that the bristles are so, so soft. I was expecting prickly bristles like those used for cleaning, but in reality it feels like cotton candy. Hopefully it works as good as it looks. -10 minutes later- Now that I've tried it, I prefer the cleansing puff(below) more.

Its pros:

★ Easy to handle

★ My face feels clean afterwards

★ Really soft bristles

★ Design makes it easy to airdry

★ Cute!

Its cons:

★ Maybe i used it wrong but it felt like i was stabbing myself in the face

★ Doesn't lather that well

★ Pretty expensive = $10AUD

VERDICT? I'm sorry guys. It's so overrated. Definitely won't buy it again. Maybe the konjac cleansing puff has set my expectations really high for any other cleanser accessory

Next up:

The Face Shop Charcoal & Konjac Cleansing Puff

This actually isn't the first time I have bought this puff. In fact, I bought the same thing last year from the same store. It worked really well until it started falling apart (literally) a month ago. Now it's just little balls of jelly. If anyone is considering buying this product, go for it. I generally use it with my daily foaming cleanser and it works into a lather within a few seconds. I definitely feel difference between using and not using it. It's slightly more expensive than I bought it last year. Now it's ~$9.50AUD compared to $9 last year. But its still worth it~

My second and last final shop was House. I don't know, I have this vested interest in household items even though I'm only 18 and don't even live by myself. I could spend all day just browsing through the cups aisle alone. I ended up buying this swing and lock canister that I have been eyeing for ages. I've always wanted (not that I have actively tried) to find a cute canister that I could leave my homemade masks in. I only got this cute thing on sale for $2! Retail price was $3 but oh well. $1 saved is $1 earned :)

Next up, a cup. It took me a little over 40 minutes to choose on a single cup. I'm not kidding - I was inspecting each cup on display to every inch. I finally settled on one of the Marie Claire cups. It's white textured on the outside and pastel pink inside. It's so cute. But the contenders were equally adorable. I'm pretty sure i sifted through 5 different designs before I settled on this one, and i don't even have a desperate need for one right now. Now to put this one in the cup cabinet until I break the next 6 cups I have in reserve.

This was pretty good for 2 hours of shopping isnt it? Do I have to up the anti?

Oh okay. I'll do some online shopping tonight to make up for it.
